Hey people. I am toying with the idea of buying a Audio-Technica ATR25 for some field recording when i go on holiday.
I am working around that kind of price range, but any other recommendations you could give me would be great. Yes i am a cheap student, so i need money for beer and food. I am fortunate to have a media centre at my uni with industry standard gear. Also i'm thinking of recording straight onto my laptop, but having done a little searching (and bearing in mind my budget) would mini disc be worth my while?
Also love this website!
Hi,
Have you considered the Audio Technica Pro 24? It comes with a longer cable than the ATR25.

Yes i had looked at that mic as well. Any other advantages to the Pro 24?
Anyway cheers for the response. Any advice on portable recorders to hook it up to?
Hey,
I made my own using Panasonic elecrets. It was a great learning experience, and I have learned about frequencies, and stereo matching too.
I think, i'd have started this way even if I wasn't poor, just to get some knowledge on recording. If I had the cash, i'd splash out on an AT822.
