Basically, I have flstudio 8 XXL PE, but fl slayer pretty much sucks, even with all these amp generators and effects that I try, I can't get a deep enough, really chugging guitar sound, whenever I try it's too dirty sounding, and not tight enough for me, and nowhere near brutal enough. Can anyone suggest a good and hopefully free guitar vst that is more flexible than fl slayer, or some amp vstis to help me towards this sound?
Thanks guys

Try Waves GTR3 - it's my favorite guitar modelling plugin and it gives you a lot of control over the sound. It's not free, but as Waves plugins go it's cheap (go for the native plugin only if you already have an audio interface that can handle Hi-Z/guitar input).
try crunchdude
Helian FU22
and waveshapers......
Crunchdude is an old favorite.
I think Audio Damage has the old Ruff Rider for free
on and Fuzzplus....
And I would go back to FL 7, it still supports REX and it seems more stable
as for the dirtiness put headphones on and listen to it that way as well, or play with your buffer, it could be your sound card or buffer settings.....
I actually own most of the audio damage stuff as well and I have to admit their stuff is Kick Ass. Kombinat is amazing for distortion.
Check out AudioMasterMind they have alot of cool freeware VST stuff.
