I'm looking for a piece of software that will trigger a sample during a live performance (between songs) with the press of a single computer keyboard key.
I have found this (http://www.wizardmaster.com/bludgeonsoft/btb/index.html) and would like to know if there is anything better and/or cheaper available before purchasing it.
If you just want the same sound playing, you could bind a hotkey in winamp. When you press the hotkey winamp will play the sound.

Thanks for the tip, we (the band) currently use winamp, but it's a whole load of different button pressing combinations to get a single sample to play through once.
I'll certainly look into key binding.

FlashUK1983,you could write something like this yourself in PD, the free (opensource) version of Max/MSP.
it's not easy, but it would definitely allow you do do More things with the sound than just play it.- bram
This is certainly another option I will eventually look into. Currently we just want the sample to play once, and don't need to do any extra things to it. But we may need to in the future.
Is there any more information you can give me on this?
BackToBasics = USD 20.00
I use Ableton Live: it's extremely easy to assign a sample to every key of a pc keyboard or any kind of midi keyboard, to trigger a sound once or in loop mode, with or without audio effects.
but... EUR 299/USD 399
