I am trying to import samples from my 2006 Macbookpro OSX 10.4.11 into my 2005 Triton Studio keyboard. My Triton Studio for some reason will not recognize samples that I download off of my computer, but I know that it is possible its just a matter of figuring it out. I have tried different techniques to get it to work, ex: I have changed file format to aiff in soundtrack, I have tried importing sounds to itunes and burning from itunes, I have tried burning from the desktop, from the program soundtrack, and I can't get it to work. I know that it is possible to load wav samples however b/c I have purchased sample cds from the site modernbeats.com and they have sent me wav. samples cds in the mail that my triton loaded up no problem! So it it Possible! Is it my computer? Do I need a special software program? Is it something about the format? If I burn disc w/ samps in a folder Triton tells me "file path does not exist, If I burn them outside of a folder Triton shows samps as empty pages rather than a page that shows a wav file symbol.
If anyone could help me with this problem i would be extremely grateful. I love working with samples and really want to eXpand my creativity by expanding my sound bank.
Respect,
Julian Piccolo
All WAVs were not created equal: they can have different bit depths. 16 bit is the standard, some of the Freesound samples are 24 or 32 bit WAVs and consequently some software is unable to play them, (only plays 16 bit). On Freesound the bit depth of a sample is displayed immediately under the waveform graph. It is possible to reduce the bit depth (to 16) using free software e.g. Audacity.
