If this belongs in another forum please advise - I'm a rookie...I just downloaded a file that is 4.86 MB which I am trying to put on my samsung impression cell phone as a ringtone. Turns out that the max file size the phone accepts is 300 kb. Is it possible to compress this the file to make it work ? btw - I'm guessing this is an acceptable use of the file. Thanks in advance for any assistance

This may be a good place to start: media-convert.com/
Several Samsung devices are listed.

you would have to convert into mp3 first off. take a few seconds off if need be and adjust the KB rate. You can usually get around 30 - 40 seconds mp3 96kbs in something like audacity, Open File In Audacity ----> Highlight What You Want --> File ----> Export Selection As MP3 ----> Check Size. You can make it louder if you want to as well. Then take it into a micro sd and there you go. But keep in mind, this isn't really a phone forum : )
