Have spent hours searching for information on creating the low frequency effects for film, and found nothing. I am using Adobe Audition 2 to master a 6 channel intrweaved wav, imported into Premiere and the video exported in DD 5.1. How do I get my car interior recording to rumble? Must be a simple control filter somewhere! Any advice for a film maker? Would also be nice to get my foley booming.

This is a recording of a plain high in the sky. I've stretched it 4 timers in time. When you stretch sound 4 time in time the frewuency wil be 4 time lower. I did it with AUDACITY. It is a free program on internet. With this program you can alsow supres ore amplify frequency's.

Download it en play a weekend. Have fun.

When it is to frustrating feel free to use my ore other-ones sounds.

£10 says you've used Audacity's nasty pitch shift effect on that sample. If you don't believe me try speeding it back up :
if you only slowed it down it could be returned to normal by speeding up.

I've used Audacity's nasty pitch shift on white noise, just to get the artifacts. Amplified those a bit by finding a nice frequency in eq, makes a cool weird sound. But yeah, if you want to pitch shift without nastiness, it isn't for you

Have you tried a low pass filter on a copy of the file ?

Hey Kess, not too sure what you're wanting but have you tried layering your sounds up to create what you want?
Find a sub bass sound (use a 3osc synth vst?) and layer it below the production or foley sound. Thats how they get sounds to boom like explosions etc.

Experiment with some library sounds or some recordings of your own, pitch them down, add reverb, layer lots of different sounds...it takes time.

This comes to mind, at around 2minutes they touch upon some of the layering for inception.

I did a total ADR, foley and re-recorded every sound, because the original audio was shit.
I found that once I had imported my 6Chanel wav back into Premiere and rendererd the final video with a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix the AV amp does all the clever stuff and sends the low frequencies to the sub!

Couldn't fully watch the movie because my neighbours just turned up his volume to a level that makes me hard to understand =((
Nevertheless, as far as I can judge after the first 5 minutes: really nice pictures, very nice quality and finally a filmmaker that does a lot of dialogue ), I always miss that in short movies. The ADR sounds pretty good, even it could be a bit more dampened in the car. The only thing I didnt like was the lack of foley like clothes movement /movement sounds. If these would be added I would it a rating of 10 out of 10 ).

Anyway: great piece of movie you made there, I will watch it later on in full length (when my neighbour finally leaves )
