Has anyone of you recorded some gamelan music yet? Recently I will go to Bali and plan to record some music on two channels max (hopefully with Microtrack). What kind of mics should I use, what recording technique do you suggest...
(If you don't know this kind of music at all: it has a wide range of instruments from large gongs, to small, high pitched metallophones, and sometimes flutes (I mean recorders).) But what I would really like to record a lot is gender wayang music, which uses 4 genders : medium to high pitched bronze metallophones.
And maybe would also like to take samples of the instruments, but I can't bring, and can't buy too many different things. So I have to choose.
