I have a RH-910 minidisc and I understand that plausable mic choices for an unbalanced, virtually unpowered with low-grade preamps minidisc are slim. I have been eyeing this mic cause it's really intended for minidiscs and I could get a cute little stand for it that extends the cable as well getting rid of the machine hum of the unit(minidisc's ultimate weakness)

I'm intended to record basic sounds around the house with it. I am aware that the noise floor is quite high cause i've tried them before in the past. Does anyone have any interesting suggestions for mics of this sort that I should be looking at before I buy it?
I have the SP TFB2s for binaural and I could get a mount for them but I don't know if i want to bother with that process(you essentially need two small mounts for that). I figure the ECM adds a bit more convenience in portability for certain scenarios. I also have a Shure SM58 and a Aphex condensor vocal mic but the ultimate would be a shotgun. Oh how I wish I could just spring for a powered shotgun. Any thoughts?
