I'm looking for a nice skull cracking sound. I need it for a film I'm working on, where someone gets hit in the head with a rifle butt.

The only thing I could find on freesound was some pasta crunching...

Sorry, I don't have the sound but I have a tip: get a water melon and beat it with a hammer (uh, and don't forget to record it). It is amazing how real that sounds!

Hmm.. it's worth a try if I can't find a sample.

Side note, I found that the pasta makes a pretty nasty sounding neck-snap noise when played back at 70% speed.

water melons and stuff sound great for this thing. Any sample you will find will be something similar. Perhaps a search for "foley, skull or bone crack/crush" will bring up other ideas to do it...

I'm uploading my neck snap sound effect now... I'll be sure to post the watermelon too, if I ever get around to it.

Not that I'm aware of. I've searched this function before and couldn't find it.
