Did you try a search for "theremin"?
I didn't see all that many 'melodic runs', but there are plenty of samples that you could try cutting one together from.
Someone else might also be able to give you advice on how to create a virtual theremin with a triangle wave synthesizer.
Thanks for the reply. I listened to all the theremin sounds on file, and have used one of them in a remix. Yet a really good run would help.
I can probably create my own theremin-like sounds with my wave synth, too, so that's a good suggestion, but it's nice sometimes to have samples of the real thing, in 30 second or so batches.
Probably you've seen these. There are tons of theremin links on the web, some sound files, and instructions on how to build different sorts of theremins. I made one back in college, I think the only hard part is making the thing look cool. If you're going to stand there onstage waving your hands around in space, you better have a stylish gadget.

If you want to build a theremin, you can make it easy on yourself by buying a theremin kit... ranging from $350 kits by Moog to reasonable $20 kits like this one. You'll probably need access to soldering equipment, though.
