Heard a song recently with a sample of a middle aged black man telling somebody "like it is" (or like it was) on the iron yard (hard job). I just loved his soulful attitude. Would love to find something similar for a track I'm writing. Any help appreciated. Willing to pay (but I'm not rich). Thanks.
check out my 18th century samples. Uploaded just for you

If your willing to pay (something) for something it may be worth your while looking for an artist through a network such as talentcircle.co.uk
That''s more specific towards filmakers/actors but I'm sure artists exist there and if not they'll point you somewhere better.
or pay me for my services
also, there are some agitated bits in the samples I have uploaded. Will take some listening - try the music lessons. Nothing quite to the level of "I pity the fool" or "Marcelus Wallis mother fucka"
Thanks for the offerings so far - I may need to listen to more of the samples you have so graciously provided. To be a bit more clear the voice and short spoken phrases I'm after might be akin to an impatient or slightly agitated Red Fox, Samuel L. Jackson, Mr. T or Morgan Freeman...
yes, it has rather become my de facto response to suggest people source a sample themselves from film. But I do think alot of the time people should really think to do this, "its illegal" some may cry, but it is actually alot easier to gain authorised 'fair use' of a sample than people think. And even if it used illegally - culture recycles itself, fact of life.
To me people should be putting in some effort to get sounds, and if they have not thought of sampling something for themselves then they need the idea suggesting to them. The more cynical side of me suspects some have conisidred it but are not dedicated enough to find one a good sample and record it for themselves!
BTW, I do not intend to be attacking murray here - he is offering money for something unique, so that is fair and square.
What do you bunch think of my view?
