not breaking but the sizzling sound just before it gives up, the little poff and the resonance in the glass right afterward
I'm giving this a try.
used fm sequence for the buzz - tapped a lightbulb with a pencil eraser for the glass.

thanks, i like the sizzle especially but it isnt really what im after. ill have another go at miking up drilled bulbs in the weekend. post it here if i get anything good.
i got it planned,
drilled hole in one and miked it up but it just wouldnt blow. when i flickered the switch the electrical spikes from my condensor mic were bigger than the sound. so i gave it up for the day, when i got back next day and turned the light on i heard it started sizzling and ran for my portable mic with batteries (think the spikes came thru the power somehow)) but it burst before i got back. but im giving it another go and am tryin to get hold of some stuff to overvoltage one to death.
