Hi, I'm looking for some samples of open environments: open fields, winds, rain, thunders, fires.
Also, I'm trying to find some sort of a sound effect, which is like a really deep bass explosion... (something that resembles the explosion of Barad'dur in "The Return of the King", if anyone knows what I'm talking about).
On another note:
where can I exchange Synth-Patches? in this site? or maybe another? (I'm kinda new in this Forum business)
Any help on either subjects will be appreciated...
Thanks,
Ronny
ronny, did you try the search: http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/searchText.php
you'll find a LOT of nature sounds here.

I did try the search function.
The problem is that it finds too many unrelated samples or samples which are related but are not for my taste.
If there's any "Advanced Search" feature available maybe it could help me, but I didn't manage to find one.
On top of that, is there a place I can exchange patches?
That phrase was not one of the phrases I tried in the search options.
I tried shorter things, simpler.
I just don't know exactly how people usually describe their samples, so I don't know which keywords I should use to find exactly what I want.
Like I said, I'm looking for background sounds, ambient sounds, that could play in the background or be used in between sections of music.
These and the special effect I'm seeking (as I described in the 1st message)
Thanks for trying to assist,
Any additional help will be appreciated.
Ronny.
You might just have to search through a lot of general noises to find exactly what you want. The preview play button really helps you samples whether or not its something you want to download.
Maybe you could also try things like dark, light, nature.
Another approach you could try is looking at the listing of sampling packs:
http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/packsView.php
Maybe that can help narrow the subject. These are packs of files assembled by users that have some sort of relation to each other.
For explosions, fireworks and guns are recorded on the site. Maybe one will match what your looking for. Drums might also match the explosion your seeking.
Ok... I'll try these packs you speak of as well...
Thanks for the advice.
If anyone know of specific sounds I could use (especially the blast sound), that could help a lot.

OMFG! STFU! MDUW! QXZZYT!
or samples which are related but are not for my taste.
NOT FOR YOUR TASTE!? YOU GO SEARCH THE WORD "RAIN", YOU WILL FIND TWO-HUNDRED-SEVENTY-EIGHT SAMPLES!
YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY REJECT E V E R Y O N E O F T H E M ! ! !
IF YOU DO THEN YOU WILL SURELY N E V E R FIND ONE YOU LIKE, UNLESS YOU RECORD IT YOURSLEF AND YOU'D PROBABLY COMPLAIN THEN TOO! ! !
Vous morceau stupide de jambon ! Ne pouvez pas vous être pas comme cela !? Vous, vous plaigniez moins ! Etonner !
Hey Bram,
What if when someone searched for "rain" you gave them the list of samples with a tag of "rain" but sorted in descending sequence of most popular (either total number of downloads, or maybe downloads in the last 7 days, for example)?
