I'm looking for a sound that can be used as a transition between two songs. It's some kind of "shhhhh" sound with maybe a small, very slight rise and the end; I guess it's created by a brush, well, brushing over a cymbal or a drum or something. I listened to lots of trailers and for example, this one

has it at 1:17 and at 1:50/1:51 (sounds similar at 2:03, but I'm told this sound is a whoosh-sound) . This one starts with the sound, but without the "thud" at the end:

I don't know how this kind of sound is produced or by what instrument - if someone could answer me just the instrument-question, I could go and search for myself.
Hope, someone can help.
Regards,
Trent
I think the sound you are talking about might be a reversed crash cymbal. try it out, here's one:

get that one, open it in your audio editor and reverse it. you can then add your own custom thump, or effects sound after it, you know. experiment.
i dont know about the swoosh sound, wouldnt mind knowing how to make that one myself. heh.
I agree with yewbic. It sounds like a reversed cymbal. You might also like some of my reversed paper tears.

yes sounds like a reverse cymbal. If you want the thud at the end it sounds like a kick drum mixed in
I did a quick reversal of http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=29775 for reference, should be online shortly.
