Student film requires some teleportation sound effects...
please watch for a better understanding...

Here's what I came up with for a teleportation:

Here are a few of the separated elements:

If it works - Enjoy making things disappear into the quantum realm.
I'm not sure about the monolith sounds. I keep hearing a vocal pad in various disharmonic chords swamped with heavy reverb... not sure if that's just a personal problem I need to see someone about - or if it can help ya...
but there ya go

good stuff freq man
I hope you stop hearing the disharmonic vocal textures one day...
I'm not sure on those sounds...it sounds too synthesized. I like the thunderclap elements maybe...and the electronic buzz...I was wondering if the sounds should buzz or flicker. I considered there being two main sounds for the teleportation, one is a start up - a flickering yellow light...the other a strobe flash indicating the teleportation.
The mololith sound could be a machine hum, that then suddenly stops or goes quieter in the next shot...
I got a few quick shots of the machine...doosh doosh doosh....maybe...doooo dood oooooooooodooodooooodooodoo ooooooooooo oooooooooowwwwwwwooooooooo... monolith?
I'll head down there in a second and try some stuff out...want it sounding fresh...
I was thinking about the chronoshift sound used in the games red alert...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronosphere#Chronosphere
It has a power up sound...then edited explosion or something
I haven't played that game is SO long - I can't remember what it sounded like - the only one I remember for sure is the Tesla Coil... "bugzapper" sound.
That was nice.
I won't be able to work on any more sounds for 24 hours - what's your deadline?
I lied.
I couldn't stop thinking about that sound... so I popped in my OLD copy of Red Alert - and listened for the Chronosphere. This is close, but the original had a lot more electrical arcing sounds. I didn't have time to search for some on fs. I'm sure there's got to be something. Maybe scraping piano wires or a big spring would do it. Here's my version:

And while we're on the subject... here are some 2001 style mololith sounds... but after this... I really can't work on any sounds for...
at least...
a few...
minutes or so.

it sounds like part blender part explosion
Honestly, I based it on a sound from Command & Conquer: Red Alert
I used a toy truck and 20 foot cooling tower fan in the beginning - funny... a blender or vacuum might have been easier.
So, to make it work for you - do you want the revving sound out - or just shorten it?
Freq
mmm maybe a bit of both...the teleportation visual is a flicker of an amber light...followed shortly after a flicker of a blue light...I was thinking in between the space you would have a power up sound...like the first flicker represents coordinate processing the next the actual sequence...perhaps creating a vaccum like sound...
Thank you for your help...this is my latest cut

Here's another go at the teleporter:

And an edited version of the voices:

Thanks for the new chronoshift sound... I used a part of it...
I need a "mmeooom meeeeom meeeom" grenade like sound for the blue and black device BRENT, my character pulls out...

do you guys reckon you can cook something up?! I'll credit you in the piece.
I suggest searching for 'swipe' 'swoop' 'swish' 'swoosh' 'whoosh' etc.
I've heard some good ones on the site.

I looked for "tone" "beep" "alarm" "alert" etc... is that the kind of sound your looking for?
