I am looking for sound samples of AM radio static caused by lightning static discharge on AM or LW radio. I was thinking about posting my AM static "spheric sounds" for natural radio listening hobbyists. The sounds can be heard on AM and the Long Wave Bands when a thunderstorm is around even on SW. If there is any sound samples for static discharge from lightning please let me know also please tell me when did it happen with time and date and location. I would
also would like to hear the most worst storm possible or the weakest one.
I would really appreciate it,
Adam Ebel
There was many small tricks to reproduce that statics ,
First, if you have an old cathodic TV that make some statics and
if you have an small, portable AM, or Walkman that have AM receiver,
just move it in front of the cathodic tube an you will hear some static sounds,
while some seconds...
After, check that: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/radio1.htm
this is an classic...
If don"t work, rub the terminals of the battery on the antenna...
And finally, in some case if you rub a piece of metal on the antenna of the AM receiver,
you will hear some statics I think...
I found something:
