Hey, I'm very new here, nascent even, and I've been looking for some Homeworld 2 like user interface beeps and so on for my flash project.
I found some by Acclivity, and they're similar to what I'm looking for.
I need beeps that consist of the same tone, but repeat.
So, one .wav with a three beep repetition,
a two beep repetition,
and one beep.
If anyone could help me here, I'd be extremely grateful!
Sorta just came up

is that close to what you're looking for (at least tonally/speedwise)? Haven't played Homeworld.
I'll see what I can do to clean a Homeworld track with UI buttons. There's so much background noise - music, game effects, dialogue, and so on - that the simple, absolutely clean UI sounds are easily lost. Standby.
If it's a game sound you can probably extract it.
Look around for homeworld modding sites, they'll probably have the details. Might have some kind of WAD-esque format, you can get a depackager.
If they are wav's you'll be in luck. They might also be in a proprietary format.
Mod sites will probably have the details, the game has been out for a while (and I think has an open-source engine now) so the info should be out there.
Just off a quick google search for 'homeworld sound extract' and '"homeworld 2" sound extract'

not a step-by-step guide to exactly what you want to do, but you get the idea. search around a bit, looks like BIG is the archive format and AIFR is the audio codec they use.
I've started to work on a GUI pack with 3 models of beeps with up to 5 consequent beeps per sound. Also working on a secondary GUI pack directed at alarm sounds 3 models of alarms both short and long with up to 5 alarm bursts per file.
one time I needed some audio samples from the PC game Half Life 2, which I had installed on my computer. So I just went into the files and found the audio. that simple. Just went into programs, Half Life 2, etc. I found a crapload of sound files, like every one used in the game, all organized by level and such. try that, maybe it'll work.
Ok here is a set of alarm effects:
Futuristic alarms 1
Futuristic alarms 2
Futuristic alarms 3
Then you have my OSD pack:
OSD text
And then you have a pack of binary data noises:
Pure data
Last but not least you have a beep pack by me, but as I write this the pack is in moderation. So I'll post a link tomorrow.
Thanks jobro, I just passed them:

Done! Thanks for your help and guidance, everyone. I managed to extract and convert the audio files from HW2 to .WAV format.
They're fantastic.
Thanks again!
Jobro - your sounds rock, and they've filled the niches that the other sounds just couldn't fill. Thanks so much
