Say, those samples you have found, can you listen to them? Whenever you can hear something on your PC, you can record and save it as a .wav document.
There are several audio engines out there. For recording, I use the Kristal Audio Engine. Not that recording wouldn't work with the Windows Audio Recorder thingy, but I'm not so sure about the quality. And I don't like the handling.
When you want to record a stream, change your VOICE INPUT settings from "Microphone" to "Stereo Mix". This works just as if your microphone records whatever is played from your PC, just without the quality loss. Record, save, have fun.
Planes going down... what planes? Second World War planes? I think so. Idea: Look for video game... ehr... videos. Trailers and stuff. Record the same way.
