Wasn't sure which topic to post this under, but Freepats ( freepats.opensrc.org ) has a collection of Open Source instrument samples that can be used to create music or to play music (using programs like Timidity). They need help adding more samples to their collection. If anyone has any midi instruments they can record or even some non-midi instruments and they're willing to share the sounds under an Open Source license, please let the Freepats project know. Also, if you're needing instrument samples, check out their collection.
Thought it would be great if the Freesound community and the Freepats community could cooperate and add to the number of instrument samples available for reuse on the web. Thanks.
do you need any kind of synth samples?
how many samples per key?
how many alternate samples?
chromatically sampled or streched samples?
I'm sure they can use synth samples as long as they can be legally licensed under an Open Source license. You can check with the mailing list at the Freepats site ( opensrc.org/mailman/listinfo/freepats ) or contact the listowner with any specific questions and for information on how to upload samples. My impression was they'd be happy with whatever you can get them. Thanks.
