Looking for Hi-Res audio of Sonic Blast from Atomic Bomb.
If you have a cool 320kbps explosion I'll listen.
Although famous / historical nuclear events preferred.
OR - anyone have a sample of the Nova Bomb from Andromeda?
Although there are sites where you could pull an historical recording of an A-Bomb explosion from an old newsreel or documentary (for now let's not go into the legal stuff) you might be disappointed by the sound. Like rocket launches these things are recorded from miles away for obvious reasons. And a lot of so called "historical" footage made use of canned sound effects so how "real" these sounds are is another matter. Any large explosion with a layer of downwards pitch shifting should get you started. Try adding thunder to give it more weight and sustain. Sorry that I can't be more specific but I've worked on a number films that wanted that kind of effect and we always found the documentary stuff to be good as a guideline but resorted to editing and mixing to get the final effect.
