Hello all,
After browsing for hours, from old english motorbikes to cats purrs and pneumatic machines, I thought I'd ask for some help
I am looking for the sound of an imaginary machine made with gears. I'll be posting the url in a response to this message since I cannot post it now.
As you will see it has some gears and springs, I think it should make a kind of industrial sound, gears running, something like that, but something clear, without noise, and not too loud. The gears are rather small, so balance is difficult to find between machinery/industrial and light/subtle.
If anyone has a good idea ... It's for the main page of the small web agency I'm running.
Thanks !
G.
I like the drawing. Try this.

Try pitching it higher and looping it; it has an odd eccentric, rhythm.
For the fan blades just get sword swings and make loops of those.
One trick to making a subtle but interesting sound is to start with something that would normally be loud and reduce its' volume until its' peaks are low-medium volume.
Hope this helps.
