Howdy all.
To finish a project I am in desperate need of some authentic samples from the Berlin subway. I would like to have some ambience sounds (trains rolling, doors closing/opening etc) and especially the following words that are being spoken through the trains speaker system (by a female voice if I remember correctly):
"Ausstieg links"
"Ausstieg rechts"
"Kurzzug hält mittig"
"Achtung"
Can anybody help me, please?
Did you try a deep search? I think we have a few recordings of this sort, but I don't recall if they are from Berlin specifically.
Thanks for your quick reply!
Indeed, there's a couple of train sounds already available here. Unfortunately, that's not what I am really after - I don't think anyone would notice the difference between the noises Berlin trains make and the noises of a Moscow subway (these are the ones I am using right now) anyway. It would have added a bit of authenticity, but I could live without that.
The real thing are these speaker sounds - these are pretty genuine. I can find a lot of stuff from Hamburg here (male speaker unfortunately), but nothing from Berlin.
So, if someone happens to sit in a Berlin subway and have his recording device handy - please press "record", lay back for the next 20 minutes and make me a happy man.

Having used the Berlin subway system...it's hardly a place to 'lay back and relax' for 20 minutes
I assume you are after the platform announcements?

Actually, I found it quite relaxing. I even stumbled into a fight between ~12 youngsters and had a good time there.digifishmusic

Yes, the sentence "Kurzzug hält Mittig" is a platform announcement. The others are announced inside the trains, just before the train enters the station.
I'll have a look in my archives and see if I have any of that...I think most of my recordings are from Die Bahn.

Is it possible they use different announcements in the western/eastern part of the city? I was mainly around Friedrichshain/Pankow, so could this be the reason?
oops, excuse - i mean the full line of the s-bahn ...cya
