I need the following lines recorded by a few different voices. Please feel free to do so! It's for a wild west children's play I'm directing. I could use both men and women. Western accent would be nice, but not necessary. These are business people--officials from the railroad. They're in a good humor.
"Hello? Anyone here?"
"We're very thirsty!" followed by a laugh.
"Whew, it's hot out there."
"What's a body gotta do to get a drink of soda pop around here?"
Thanks.
Hey, there's no reason one of my railroad executives couldn't be a German! Go for it!
Oh, man....ANYONE who has the MCP as their avatar is excellent in my book!
Coming soon to a Freesound database near you! The dangerbabe sample packet.
Just uploaded it. Did several versions, but thought these were the best. Didn't include a laugh. Just couldn't get it to work.
If it's close to what you want I can work on it some more.
Mike
Thank you all. A few folks have PMed to ask if I"m looking for adult or children's voices. I need adult voices.

I could use a couple more, so anyone else who'd like to record, that would be great (ladies, too!).

Each one has several takes; The laugh is in a separate file.
Use/Reject/Refine as you see fit
Thanks, Firefreak! And thanks, all. I think I have enough samples now. You guys are great!
Oh, you found it! Huzzah. I added my own voice in there once I had everyone else's. I think we sound mighty fine. Thanks again. If you'd like more info on the play, you can check us out at Run of the River Players.
I tell ya, Freesound is the community theater director's best friend!
Theater sounds...I didn't think of that. That's a great idea. Thanks, hammerklavier. The Run of the River Players is a theater group I started at my workplace, Chelan County PUD (Public Utility District). We are a publicly-owned electric utility.
A couple years ago, I was itching to do theater, but was having trouble breaking into our local community theater scene. So I started the Run of the River Players at work. We stage our plays in the District's auditorium for free and we take donations to benefit a local charity and offset some of the costs of the production. We have a really good time.
Yes, I did Hamlet locally in one of our other community theaters. We are definitely non-professionals, although I have a degree in theater arts. Most of my actors had never done Shakespeare before, and Hamlet had never been produced in our town before (can you believe that??!). So it was really cool to be the instigator to bring that about. It got great reviews from the audiences --even when the air conditioning went out! It was a great experience.

Hi, guys,
Just wanted you to know I used our "Railroad People" recording in rehearsal yesterday and all the actors were ooohing and ahhhing over it. They're like, "Who was that? Where'd you get those?"
I proudly referred them to Freesound.
