Hi.
I'm on final meters with my sound project, but I would need to find sound of big birds wings flapping and also maybe some kind of sound for bird's gliding in the sky. So in the picture these birds are gliding in the sky and make few flaps, sound should be BIG.
I have only found some pigeons flapping from freesound, they sound too much like small bird.
Any ideas how to make these sounds as foley?
I tried to use towels or newspapers, but it didn't really work out.

Search for "riflebird flapping" ... you could try slowing those down. They are a fairly small bird too, but make a nice sound.
I would "swoosh" a rod (dowel, walking-stick, cane, etc) past a mic and slow it down 4X or so. You would want to be swinging as fas as you can to get a nice sound.

I have a couple but quite short - they are of hornbills which are large birds. The first one may be better and if needed I could slow it down as that might help.

Thanks for foley tip. I try it today, probably it could work.

Heh... being lazy is good thing?
I used keyword 'whoosh' and I found this:
http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=14609
2 last sounds on this sample are really close for what I'm looking for.
I doubt achieving better result recording foley myself.
I think I go with these 2 sounds and just make variables with pitch etc.
