Hi all,
I think I originally posted this request in the wrong section, so apologies!
I'm looking for a sound that's fairly tough to describe. I can only barely describe it as a slow explosive crescendo, or slow fill, or slow corrosion. It's for an intro title sequence, and the sound should come in slowly and quietly, only to crescendo into a kind of hiss. The only comparison I can make is from an obscure 1980s reference for an Apple ][e game called Ultima, where the title slowly gets filled in with the sound crescendoing in the background. Does anyone have a clue as to how to find something that sounds like this?
Much thanks!

Sorry I never played that game, but if I needed a crescendo like that I might take a sound (like possibly the hiss itself) and record it with a wet reverb and delay on it, then flip the file backwards. It might work better with a sound other than the hiss and then add the hiss sound at the end of the file.
Hope that helps.
