Hi all, I was wondering if anyone would be wiling to make a custom sound bit for me?
I play Silent Hunter 3 (it's a WW2 U-Boat game) and one of the game features is that of a Gramophone. The boat's radio operator has a phonograph right at his station (see pic below, it'll be in the right corner) and the game also has a looped "crackling" sound so that when you play some of the older WW2 songs, it makes it sound "more authentic", like playing vinyl.

So I thought, it would be nice to add the ambient/background sounds of the operators's station included with the crackling sound - since the way to pump the music through the U-boat would be to place the microphone near the phonograph, so you'd still be able to hear the sounds of the operator flipping switches, sweeping/tuning the various radios through different frequencies, static, morse code, and, well I think you get the idea.
So ...I'm looking and searching the net for radio tuning sounds that you might also hear in the backgorund, when I stumbled across "the free sound project". And I'm loving all the different sounds that are created here, ... so I was hoping with sound creation expertise, and a bit of flattery, that someone might be able to make a 30-45 second loopable clip that would make various noises that you might hear in a loopable sound bite.
And if it's a deal maker, I do some graphic design stuff, so I may be able to design you a logo or something in return for your help.
Thanks in advance!
Mike
I know of a place that you can download audio files recorded off of old music cylenders. http://cylinders.library.ucsb.edu/index.php
