I got a tape recorder for my birthday and i just recently learned how to record it on computer.
I can do a sound fest whenever, I'll have my family help so it's just not me doing it.
What would you like me to do?
I'll take anything, what would you like my family to record?

what about letting each member of your family introduce themselves?
give them each some time to think, and tell them each have 30 seconds to represent themselves.
that way we get to know them.
don't forget yourself.

and remember: record in a completely SILENT room (except for the person speaking), minimize clipping and shouting so you get a good, clean recording (the kind some of us here in Freesound prefer).

once that is done we'll think of something.
