Hello
My name is David, CinderVOMIT and I'm a psychedelic musician and am really curious to see the response if I was to decide to put up some sound design of my own for other people to utilize.
Great! What are you using to create your sound? Just curious...

Those are probably as useful as most stuff on here.
They might be "too short" for many uses, but I'm always surprised as how people find uses for the most off-the-wall nonsense I've posted here that I didn't think was even very good. I've done a few similar things that have gotten no usage, while some others get used a lot. Check out Forsaken passage as an example (it's long). You may never hear about it in comments on freesound, but if you have a unique enough user name, you can do a google search, like for
"jalastram" "freesound" -site:freesound.org
and eventually you might find some really interesting stuff where people have used your contributions.
Hello David
Quite difficult to predict which sounds will be very popular and which ones won't.
Uploading things to Freesound is a game of patience. Sometimes you get comments or a request to use a sound you uploaded months or years ago.
Another point to note is that you may find interesting discussions with others on the forums. Maybe share ideas or techniques in the "Production Techniques, Music Gear, Tips and Tricks" forum?
And finally, now and then other users post requests for sounds they need for games, music or other purposes. Some of these requests may fall into your area of interest in sound design.
Another place you might want to check is the Ambient Online forums. Google it.
I have an account there too, but I am not very active there currently.
Dark atmospheric sound design should really appeal to lots of folks there.
You can even post some discussions in their forums with links back to sounds that you have uploaded here at Freesound - a win-win !
