1. I'd like to develop an app to help me practice intervals (music theory, ear training). The dataset of different recordings that I'm looking for would be something similar to this site:
https://www.musictheory.net/exercises/ear-interval
Alternatively, I would love to get some advice from you, the technically experienced users here, about this (2.+3.):
2. Since I don't need good audio quality, maybe I could use a site like https://virtualpiano.net/ but I need a tool to easily record and cut the audio?
3. From the above mentioned web site (https://www.musictheory.net/exercises/ear-interval), maybe I could somehow use Chrome's developer options to download what I hear right in the browser?
You can skip the whole recording phase if you download a soundfont in sfz format, since it contains all the single instrument samples.
Take a look at this one for example:

Unfortunately, it seems that it is, and I quote: "Sampled in minor thirds from the lowest A."So, any idea on how I can extract the other tones in between?
Having to create the missing notes takes some work, but it's still easier than playing and recording every note. You could do this with Audacity for instance ( https://www.audacityteam.org/ )
In the Effect menu you'll find the Change Pitch option, very easy to use as it lets you set the original and target note, or specify the relative number of semitones.
