Although I am able to put together sounds by downloading them individually, I was wondering if any RPG people, tabletop online gamemasters to game developers, have any suggestions as to some packs of sounds (not sure how to search for them). For example, a pack of sounds that are for forests instead of looking through one by one would be a great boon for me.

If I were in your situation, I'd just go to MyNoise.net and poke through the various soundscape generators. Get familiar with the controls and the automation parameters, load up your soundscape(s) of choice, and then have Audacity record using the Stereo Mix device, so that it captures what your PC "hears". Then you have a one-of-a-kind soundscape and can embellish it with more specific sounds from this site here.
