The engine is hot, and when left to park the engine will begin to contract (as the hot engine cools off, the metals physically shrink back to their normal size). This sound is known as a crinkling, or ticking. It can be heard only after driving a car very hard and parking it quickly, or otherwise parking a car after a long drive.
These are physical metal components of the engine and transmission that are physically contracting due to their temperature change.
This is a real thing, I just cannot find any audio of this.
