This is driving me batty! Our local radio station has a "Secret Sound Game," wherein a few times a day they play a secret sound and you have to guess what it is if you're the 15th caller. Every time an incorrect guess is made the prize money goes up by $100. Up to $3200 on this particular sound now..
Do you know what it is? Interested to hear your guesses!
Can't post full URL but add the http colon backslash backslash to this: podcast.1075kzl.com/wkzl/2376832.mp3

The real mystery is: what happened to the first reply to Carey77's question
The Villa Albani?
Hahaha, okay, I swear I'll give a correct guess some of the prize money. At least a few hundred bucks! Anyone have any ideas that they wish to actually share? C'mon... Prize money up to $3800 now!
Oh, also, here are some "clues" about the sound:
Clue#1: Ironman2
Clue#2: Swiss Cheese
Clue#3: Steve Carell
Clue#4: Skunk
Clue#5: Dog
Clue#6: Stained
Clue#7: Magic

OK as you've agreed to give a "At least a few hundred bucks" if you win to Freesound.org I'll tell you what I think it is ...
I think the WKZL Secret Sound is a Tumble (clothes) dryer running whilst twisting the clunky control knob.

Clue#7: Magic [dryer ball].
1075 KZL Jason Goodman here, Here is the next clue for Secret Sound #4:http://www.facebook.com/1075WKZLHugh Laurie.
Jack pot is $4000! Our biggest yet!
Hugh Laurie plays Dr House. (So it's a household item then).
3. ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes open only to legal residents of the U.S. residing in the state of North Carolina or Virginia, 16 years of age or older.http://www.1075kzl.com/pages/6732993.php
Yeah, Hugh Laurie was clue #8, and they just added clue #9: Spaghetti.
Gotta be something to do with laundry. Someone already guessed clothes in a washing machine, so that's not it. I think your dryer guess might be a good one...
I cannot wait until this damn sound is guessed correctly! Driving me insane. heh
-Carey
I have no clue
Could it be something like a cheese grater? Or an air freshener? I also thought about a thing to punch holes in paper. Or a stapler or something, but it doesn't sound like that. Or a paper cutter, you know, those things with sharp knives.
It does appear to be something that's pressed and then released.
Timbre didn't say "clothes in a washing machine" he said the twisting of the knob of a washing machine while it is running.
Not sure if you caught on to that.

1075 KZL ... Secret Sound #4 just jumped AGAIN...NOW it's $5700,http://www.facebook.com/1075WKZL
... Wonder if that much money will buy some better weather; it's looking NASTY out there!1075 KZL Secret Sound $5600 NOW!! The latest clue is: 'will definately be heard by many this weekend'
When the weather is "NASTY" (wet) you cannot dry clothes outside, so you have to use, (all together now), a tumble dryer.

OK, I bet you a free voice over session that it's a printing pressI have a British English Accent, Low/Deepish voice
I was thinking about cash, say a nominal $10. I pay you if it's a printing press you pay me if its a tumble dryer.
Before you accept the bet note the clues above: you'll see "printing press" doesn't fit, but tumble dryer does.
I tell you what - have a go at my Voice over request and I will consider the bet
