can someone help me with a camera shutter flash sound for this project?

:?:
Sure- will the shutter of my 35mm SLR work?
Also, how fast would you like it? I can record it at various shutter speeds from 1/2 second to 1/700th. (125-250 is normal.) I could also do a take at each speed.
there's plenty of camera shutter sounds on freesound. did you try the search function?

if you put 'camera' into the sample search you will see what i saw before i started this thread:
of the 15 tagged samples displayed, only the first five displayed the tag i searched for. 6-15 were bell/alarm/squeak sounds which did not contain the 'camera' tag. the word was evidently found by the search engine in the description, but the displayed order does not seem to discriminate between tags and description, which begs the question - why tag?
none of the first 5 were what i needed and in my hurried circumstance (perfect time for a tagged search) i did not bother to search the next page of results; as the top 5 were positively tagged it seemed obvious to me (though incorrect) that the remainder were not. i could not imagine someone uploading a sample of a camera and not tagging it with the word 'camera' and so assumed there would be no more listed. I was suprised I must say as i felt sure there would be one.
so if you get my drift, its all very well knowing this now...
i wonder if other people are making the same mistake
hock:
Good point... it could make sense to give greater weight for tag matches over descriptions, since the really important attiributes should be in the tags. Even better, if you find a match in the tag and in the description.
