Okay, I'm uploading the laser sound along with some recordings of a Jacob's Ladder.
EDIT: I posted a picture of the laser to the freesound flickr pool (along with some shots of the Jacob's Ladder.) I will post here when the sounds become available.
just moderated them nice pack halleck. Wish i was there with my 722 and decent mike

Thanks!
The best mic I own is the internal mic on my GL-2. (I'm more of a video person than a sound person, at least right now.)
I was worried about bringing my GL-2 though, since there was the possibility of it getting damaged physically (or getting my CCDs fried due to bright flashes).
It was a casual video shoot, so this is really more of a byproduct of that than anything. If I was focusing on recording audio, I would have probably positioned the mic closer and told everybody to shut up. Also, I was a bit preoccupied with not getting electrocuted.
My friend says he has improved his Jacob's Ladder since I recorded this... so perhaps I'll get a chance to re-record and improve!
oh yeah, sorry didnt mean to diss your stuff. I'd rather have a bit of a lofi recording then no recording at all.
Heh nope, not a dis. More like constructive criticism I guess.
I can try recording the new jacob's ladder, and there are two ways I could improve the audio.
1. better technique
2. better equipment
Unless you want to buy me a new mic, you could try suggesting some better techniques.
I can try bringing the GL-2 if I can get some decent shielding for it... but I would still be a bit worried about the electronics getting damaged, especially if my friend decides to fire up his tesla coil. )
