Hey this is pretty cool! I can imagine a video for this with trains going past, kinda like the michel gondry video for the chemical brother's "Star Guitar".
I guess you're trying to keep it low key, but some train whistle and crossing gate bell samples could really add some flavor.
You should check out freesound member Pitx... he makes very cool and melodic tracks from unlikely samples like this.

I think "Swan's Lake" was made with balloons squeaking, and "Whistle and Shout" was just people making noises.
