Hello all. When I was in Naples Italy, I was struck by the incredible diversity of sound coming from car horns and the frustrated drivers in the traffic gridlock. It got me thinking along the unusual lines of a car horn as an instrument. Eventually, I changed violin patches to suggest various horns, and used some of the police radio samples kindly submitted by ERH, to enhance the track.
I laid down a backing track, which is meant to sustain the picture of a vehicle bowling along the freeway at a steady pace, and then built up a mental audio storyboard of a police pursuit scenario. I had fun anyway, and if you'd like a listen it's called Modern Symphony For The Car Horn. You can find it via the link, then selecting music on the right of the page.
Once again, thanks to The Freesound Project for inspiration, and ERH in particular.
