This is something I have been working on for a few months. I think I just about have it down composition-wise, knob tweaks may need to be made here and there as regards mixing but I don’t want or need it to be crystal clear. The general feel of hybrid soundscape/track was inspired by Burial, probably a bit too much.
Anyone who has been familiar with the political situation here in the United (sic) Kingdom will probably understand what it’s ‘about.’ I have felt a little less depressed about the impending election given that it has more resembled your common or garden Labour/Tory scrap than I anticipated. But either way, someone is going to be unhappy; when Scotland goes (and it will) EU withdrawal is an inevitability. The English will then have lost their two civilizing influences, and Purple Night will come.
Without Freesound I probably would not have been inspired to make this track, as a couple of samples I found here heavily motivated me. I think I’ve got everyone:

http://freesound.org/people/lauris3722/sounds/159762/
http://freesound.org/people/qubodup/sounds/160213/
http://freesound.org/people/jmdh/sounds/136544/
http://freesound.org/people/impy4ever/sounds/47276/ (one of the only samples featuring spoken Romanian on Freesound, but a good one, both in this context and in general)
http://freesound.org/people/Corsica_S/sounds/108310/ (hold tight Amy G, this sample again spoke to me in isolation and in the context I used it)
Thanks all. Enjoy the track.
