This recording is a soundscape made up of multiple recordings from freesound users and forms part of a sculpture project. The idea behind the work is the fact the site where the sculpture is sited in Auckland, New Zealand is directly above, if you dug a tunnel through the earth, a site close to El Gastor in Spain. The soundscape will play from the sculpture, so giving the impression of hearing sounds from the other side of the world. I will also be working with children from Rutherford Primary School, which is near the sculpture, to make further soundscapes to share and make connections with people in El Gastor and other places in Spain.
