I do a little work on the side for a friend who runs a horse ranch offering trail rides, riding lessons, etc. I've had random thoughts in my head about animating the ranch logo, and finally sat down and cranked this out in a few hours.
Sound effects obtained from Freesound.org:

I do have a shorter "twang" -- the sound from Yap Audio Production in my source list, though I'd call it more of a rattle/wobble -- at the very end when the arrow hits. At one point in my edit I did have bow twang of sorts to indicate when the arrow was released offscreen, but felt like it cluttered up the audio a bit. I was intentionally aiming for a simple/minimal approach with both the visuals and the audio mix, so leaving that twang out felt more appropriate.
I've learned over the years that being carefully selective is often better than being all-inclusive. In other words, I'd rather that the right sounds be in there for the style I'm trying to target than to include every possible sound that might've been heard were this moment to have been recorded in real life.
