Hi all,
I'm a long-time user and occasional contributor of Freesound, and I'm excited to tell you a little bit about a project I've been working on for most of the year, on and off. Victoriocity is a detective comedy podcast/audio drama series set an an alternate Victorian London, and it's been getting lots of excellent feedback over the past few weeks. As of now we are three episodes in, with weekly releases.
"Even Greater London, 1887. In this vast metropolis, Inspector Archibald Fleet and journalist Clara Entwhistle investigate a murder, only to find themselves at the centre of a conspiracy of impossible proportions."
It's been huge fun to work on a full cast production, bringing the unique world created by the writers into life with sound, and freesound has been a huge part of that: I reckon I've used close to at least 150 freesound sounds as part of the soundscape. You can see some of those for the episodes released so far at
https://www.victoriocity.com/audio-credits
(for space reasons we haven't included the cc0 sounds, but we are of course hugely grateful for those too). So a huge thank you to everyone contributing sounds to freesound, especially those featured in our show!
You can listen (and subscribe) for free at
https://www.victoriocity.com/listen/
and in three weeks time the complete first series will be available. (Do feel free to follow us on twitter @victoriocity to keep up to date with developments.)
I'd love to hear people's thoughts. If you listen and love the show, do write us a review on itunes or twitter And if you have thoughts on how the production could be even better, let me know here!
Cheers,
Dominic.
