And this.... http://www.ourmedia.org/node/167520
This is not made with Freesound files but I like it... FYI: The verse/chorus format is deliberately ignored...
Feedback welcome!

Since your nick is noise collector I would not expect anything other than that actually .

Ok, feedback: first track is technically good but I just can not stand hip-hop and R&B.
Second track: you are kidding with that it has not verse/chorus structure.......it does. Just not in the super obvious way. That track is way better than the first one. Sounds a bit like someone stole the e-guitar of Type-O-Negative . Could also have been done by Apocalypse Theater.

Thanks for the feedback! Just skip the rapping and go right to the guitar solos, my favorite part of that song! I am putting about 40 songs up... They range from thrash metal to jazz trip hop to alternative to rap to techno, etc...
My main problem is going through my attribution list trying to remember what sounds went where and crediting Freesound users, so those songs take longer to post. I changed the names of the sounds when I downloaded them to make it easier for me to organize them.... stupid move. Also if you hear your sound and I left it out, let me know and I will correct it. There may be sounds burined in the mix that I cannot recognize anymore...
Anyway check out all the songs! I will post when I update the next batch with freesound sound based songs. Enjoy or cringe in ear pain... just tell me about it so I can make the next 40 songs better. Peace!
one of my favorite songs: http://www.archive.org/download/embolism/Embalism.mp3
I am the deadman..................................................................................................................
Great stuff! I love the vocals, that low slung style goes great with the more laid back tracks. All catchy too, again something I love.... just grabbed about 5 tracks which im burning onto a cd to listen to in the car. Id like to hear more of the vocal stuff with maybe a hint of a psychedelic slant. Well, thats the kind of stuff i'm into.....interested in a collaboration?
h
P.S: I agree with you on the nightmare that is gathering the sample info after using them.....strewth on a moped, what a chore.
Thanks for the feedback... I will be posting another 10 songs tonight (after I go through attribution list) that have Freesound loops and other sounds in them. There are 36 songs already up and I have another 20 or 30 that are in various stages of completion. Then I have about 200 hours of my music taped over the last 20 years that needs to be digitized and posted.
I would love to collaborate, send me a link to your music if you have one. I am working with my buddy on the vocals via ourmedia going forward. I will post the peliminary mix, he will record his vocals and post them up to his site. Then I will dowload, process and paste into my master and mix it down and repost to my site.

There are 4 or 5 more songs and ll will have attributions posted there...
P.S. I still have some organ tracks to mix into this but it's 95% done....
Thanks for your feedback, check out the other songs too! There are plenty of different styles and instruments for everyone!
I've listened to your song Embalism. I think that it has a good evolution but:
1. I miss pan in all the composition (I don't know if it is a mono recording... if it is, I must become quiet); for example, from 3:12 to 4:48 there's a solo guitar that is acompanied by a rythm guitar, but both are in the center of the stereo field so the effect in the listener is of rushing. The same occurs with the drums instruments: normally snare and kick in the center (that's right); chaston, cymbals, toms and percussion are normally distributed from left to right and this doesn't occur.
2. The composition seems to me to have been recorded with hurry (some details of guitar solos like those that occurs in 3:54 and 6:41).
3. I think that there's not an equilibrium in the depth field, that is, the amount of reverb or delay applied to each instrument (more reverb, more depth and the instrument is more far away).
Summarizing, I think that Embalism has enough power and deserves a remake: the same structure, the same instruments but a new production. I know that in this case is a difficult work, 7 minutes of music are many minutes...

Pitx
P.D.: English is not my language and perhaps I don't use the words correctly. This review is absolutely friendly. It's the kind of review I would like to receive.
Cool, thanks for the feedback... I actually threw that song together on an older PC with a very limited memory (32MB!) and CPU speed so I might have mixed the drums to a single mono track to save drive space and conserve resources. I also used to have a rule that you used the first take of a track, no matter what, so I did little or no retakes back then... I have since abandoned this "purist" strategy....
I know the software synth I used was recorded at 22k sample rate because my machine was not fast enough to record the mix at the same time and there was no "render" feature! I can't remember the software's name... something to do with "wolf" or something...
That was one of the first songs I started that never left my hard drive and I believe I started it sometime around 1997 I used to only use headphones back then so some old mixes do not translate to stereo speakers that well. I never thought of redoing it but you never know! Thanks again and check out my new "Drum and Bass" song I did in about 2 hours last night...

Here are the freesound smaples used:
reinsamba http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=14385
patrykbfk http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=15534
cliff http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=13534
cliff http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=13486
I will be adding some vocals to this because it bores me to have an instrumental with no instruments...
