Nice little crackling fire on the shores of the St. Mary's (also spelled St. Marys) River in the rural eastern portion of Michigan's upper peninsula. Recorded on a Zoom H1n about 30 minutes after sundown. A cloud of mosquitos started making their way towards me so I headed inside to grab some bug spay leaving my recorder out by the fire. 4 minutes in you'll hear some skeeters checking out the field-recorder to see if it was warm blooded. The night was a lovely mix of birds, waterfowl & frogs, so it will make for great soundscape for those of us who enjoy the sounds of camping.
