The Kali temple of Kalighat is an important temple in Calcutta. It attracts lots of pilgrims from all over India. The Sunday mornings are very crowded. This soundscape was recorded on a Sunday at around 11 am using the built-in microphones of the Edirol R09HR. There are hawkers trying to sell flowers, priests and even a children's rattle seller - the general cacophony typical of India.

Beautiful. I remember on my first trip to Calcutta being at the temple as they sacrificed a goat...suddenly my face was washed with hot blood! Not what i was expecting from my vegetarian visit to India!
