Laysan Albatross (Gooney Bird) sounds recorded on Midway Island in April of 2001. Yes, all of the sounds you hear are from gooney birds. They have a very wide range of different sounds they can make. This goes on day and night. Field recording using a Sony mini disk recorder. Transferred to digital via an analog path since I had no method for copying the digital file from the mini disk.

Amazing work! Thank you for sharing.
Used it for an ebook soundtrack. The title ALBATROCE meaning: ‘alba’ (white) + ‘atroce’ (atrocious / excruciating) = ‘albatros’ (albatross; the wandering one). Inspired by the famous sonnet of Baudelaire, it’s about human souls trapped in an industrial factory.
