Using VCV Rack and a particular tool called "Tube Unit" by Sapphire, I created some spacey, room-filling sounds. It has been awhile since I had made these sounds so I'm a little fuzzy on the details. All I can say definitively is that I was toying around with randomization and altering parameters in Tube Unit and in turn I would often get these spacey, wide sounds. Sometimes there are these old-school telephone like modulations thrilling and trilling subtly, sometimes there are these plinks and plonks and other sounds that are only translated into language via onomatopoeia.
Some of these tracks, specifically, the variations I made on Tube Unit Drone 13, 14, and 15 are more plinky and sort of like retrofuturistic ear candy. Little plips, and clicks and tiny sounds made big. Microsoundesque really.
Specifically track 13 and to a lesser degree track 14 were a lovely rediscovery as they remind me of one of my favorite albums of electronic abstraction, namely, "Erroribus Humanis Et Antinomy" by Tetuzi Akiyama, Ken Ikeda, and Chihei Hatakeyama.
There's a spaciness and a lovely aimless feeling to it that I really enjoy.
As always, I hope you enjoy these and can use these in your creative endeavors.
Please keep the following two things in mind when using these tracks:
1. You MUST provide credit/attribution to me (Hewn.Marrow) and the freesound project (freesound.org) for any of these that you use (in part or whole, as-is or even after edits). If you are producing something and posting online, I ask that you provide a link to my user page https://freesound.org/people/Hewn.Marrow/.
2. You MAY NOT use this or any other of my tracks in royalty free and/or stock material footage. Don't put my raw sounds/files on YouTube or anywhere else. These are intended to be used by you or others for enjoyment or for use in your own creative projects.
Thank you,
