This is a sound I manufactured as a background to the introduction of a short sampled piece called "The Trash Limburger Environmental Digest," which is unfortunately not appropriate for posting here. This is the gong of an an early twentieth-century pendulum clock slowed down, reversed, flanged, then appended with a layered and heavily processed sound of my own voice. It took me all day to put the thing together, but I was quite pleased with the result. The original sounds were recorded with a Denon DTR-80P DAT recorder and an Audio-Technica AT-822 mic.
