I make field recordings for use in my ambient electronic music. My main portable recorder is a Tascam DR-40 PCM which can produce 24 bit audio. I usually use the built in stereo mics although a further two external mics can also be used. I have also recently purchased a pair of reasonable quality stereo contact mics which I have not really had chance to experiment with yet. These are to reveal hidden sounds in everyday machinery rather for use with musical instruments,
I also occasionally make recordings using an app on my LG V10 phone which also easily handles 24 bit recording.
My recordings will from now on be Creative Commons 0 licensed so any body can use them for any purpose without the hassle of crediting me. I know how much I appreciate 0 licenced recording so it seems only fair to offer the same in return.
