This is a recording I made of a friend's 4 ft Zildjian gong. Captured with a vintage Neumann M49, through a vintage Electrodyne mic preamp, direct into an Alesis Masterlink. No noise reduction, no FX of any kind. Normalized to -0.1 dB.
The only issue with this sound is that we didn't have a proper gong beater in the studio, so I used the bottom of a sneaker. The attack is a little hard. When I have a proper gong mallet I will upload another file.
