I enjoy ALL music. From opera to rap. From the Appalacian sounds (Blue Grass) to Zylophones and musical spoons. The funniest CD I have is a recording of Christmas Carrols played on a Kazoo. It makes me laugh and have fun. I am very fond of drums. Particulary Masmoudi rythms. However, I live in the American Southwest (Indian Country) and I also like the regal, deep resonance that can be heard with the Pow Wow drums. Sometimes these are part of our Catholic worship services. These drums can be elegant, worthy of worship and prayer. I also enjoy the flute very much. I can easily hear it in an orchestra. Also, it has many tonal qualities that lend it to prayerful meditations. I also am fond of the chello. I like it for the same reasons as the flute. But the chellos deep base sounds can be almost hypnotic. I find that I like that instrument when I have the undisturbed time to go into a deep meditative state. But life isn't all serious. I enjoy the playful and experimental sounds of the band "STOMP". As well as industrial music/sounds. I once heard a piece made by a young man who recorded the sounds of the Golden Gate Bridge (in San Francisco , California). He spliced the sounds together so that it resembled a composition from a Wind Harp. I thought that was brilliantly imaginative, and displayed his skill for random sounds spliced as notes for music. I also like the sounds produced by the winds at the Florida's singing Bok Tower. It's like a "Wind" Flute. If you can imagine a correlary to a Wind Harp. I also like silly music. Such as music made in the tradition of the American hillbilly: with spoons (the poor man's castanets), saws, jugs, wash boards, and kazoos.
