Recordings of the epic creaking sounds from my office door. Great effects here for classic horror or just foley for an old house.
This is a old-fashioned six-panel wooden door with a metal handle (not a knob). I installed it in about 2008 or so, and have never oiled the hinge, so it's got a pretty wicked creak now in 2013.
Final recording of the door -- I turned the mic gain way down, so now the door closing thumps do not clip and they sound good on the recording. I also got in one good slam of the door. I have two other recordings with higher gain if you're more interested in the creaking sounds.
